IMO higher FPS (even 45 vs 30) provides the better experience with streaming in most cases, even though many people don't consciously realize the difference.Īlso a final though if you're not a partner and you stream at 3500 bitrate (regardless of resolution) you're shooting yourself in the foot. It adds a little extra quality and without overstuffing the pipe which makes your "1080p" stream look more pixelated than 720p. There are more factors of course but just general rule of thumb.

The standard twitch window size is 720p if you're viewing chat on the same 1080p monitor to begin with, and can be easily scaled up or down to many different 16:9 resolutions other than the 3 biggies.Ĩ64p 60fps can be sustained in most games at 3500 bitrate. I feel like people forget there are more resolutions than just 480p/720p/1080p. This, 3500 bitrate is not sufficient for true 1080p even at 30fps in most games (static games like Hearthstone are the exception). Thanks to /u/iTruthful and Conceptional for the art!
